Crossroads distributes approximately 50% of its goods within the Hong Kong SAR: the equivalent of 58 x 20' containers per year. Many times a week, trucks deliver goods to Social Welfare Department sponsored cases as well as several local NGOs. Read some of our stories.

Glory ExpressGlory Express

As people break free from harmful behavioural patterns -  emotional challenges, chemical dependencies, criminal activity - they find new confidence if employment can re-direct their focus and establish stability in income.  The Glory Express employs such people as it provides meals for hundreds of workmen on a daily basis. Crossroads helped equip this creative scheme.

It’s no easy battle to break free from the grip of drug dependency. Apart from the struggle with the addiction itself, there is often the need to provide those recovering with new employment skills and opportunities so they can begin a new life with meaning and dignity. Groups like Hong Kong’s Zheng Sheng offer tea house employment, computer skills and other creative ways to start over. Crossroads helps provide the furniture and equipment they need.

People with multiple needs are the most challenging to look after. It is Crossroads’ delight to see its donated goods help organisations, such as this one, Hong Kong’s Home of Loving Faithfulness, dedicated to their care.

Domestic Shelter

 

Domestic Worker Shelter

Abused domestic workers have almost nowhere to turn for refuge. Crossroads' provision of furniture and household equipment is ideal to outfit such places of shelter and care within Hong Kong.

Mission for New Arrivals

It is often a big leap for people from Mainland China to set up home in Hong Kong. The cost is high and the adjustment difficult. The Mission for New Arrivals helps care for those who struggle and Crossroads is delighted to have partnered with them for their warehousing and goods needs.

St James' Settlement

People with special needs require special educational opportunities in order to maximise their chance at life. St James' Settlement provides care and training for a wide range of need in Hong Kong. Crossroads partnered with PCCW to provide computers for the visually impaired.

Po Leung KokPo Leung Kuk

Organisations such as Po Leung Kuk provide accommodation for the elderly that is dignified and respectful. It has been a privilege for Crossroads to give furniture, white goods and other equipment to help facilitate their work.


St. Barnabas' SocietySt Barnabas

The homeless need food and shelter. St Barnabas' Society provides both, together with tender loving care, in the provision it offers those on the street. Crossroads has helped furnish their property and provided food for those in need.

Ronald McDonald HouseRonald McDonald House

The Ronald McDonald House in Hong Kong provides temporary housing for parents when their terminally ill children are admitted to a nearby hospital. The Rotary Club of Victoria liaised with Crossroads in helping supply needed furnishings for the facility's library.

Breakthrough

In order to give youth appropriate counselling, it is often essential to equip them with much needed skills. To this end, Crossroads gave 40 computers to Breakthrough, a group offering care to youth.

End Child Sexual Abuse Foundation

The End Child Sexual Abuse Foundation was formed in Hong Kong in 1999. Crossroads was delighted to assist in providing furniture and equipment for their new office.

St StephensSt Stephen's Society

As drugs wreak their tragic destruction in individuals lives, St Stephen's Society continues to open rehabilitation homes. From knives and forks to bedding and refrigerators, Crossroads is delighted to help supply all the items it can.

Operation Smile

An international organisation that performs free corrective surgery for children around the world received equipment from Crossroads to help furnish their Hong Kong office.

A Better Living Environment (ABLE)

ABLE promotes environmental awareness through unique 'hands on' community projects. They requested office equipment for their expanding administration needs, and Crossroads was pleased to help provide the necessary 'recycled' office furniture.

International Social Service

ISS provide training and counselling for migrant workers. Crossroads helped furnish their educational facilities by providing filing cabinets, large working tables, an electric stove and milk powder.

Navigator 4x4 Off-Road Association

Fifty 4x4 off-road drivers put their hobby to good use during a tour in Guangdong. They took clothing and educational material for kids in a rural school. More trips are planned in which Crossroads will partner with Navigators in the provision of aid.

Macau

"I cry every time I look at the beautiful goods we've received," commented the director of the 'Cradle of Hope' orphanage. In 1993 a young child was found abandoned in the streets. From that small beginning the work has grown, and has led to the opening of another building for older children. Crossroads sent a 40' container which included furniture, toys and a piano.
